About Me
Hi 👋 Bijit here! We finally have a portfolio, here you can find all about me.
From Beginnings to Tech Enthusiast:
I hail from a small village near Diamond Harbour in West Bengal, India. In 2019, while pursuing PCM, with Computer Science as optional in higher secondary, I came to know about programming, with my first programming language C. While this wasn't an immediate click for me in terms of a future career path, it was during the COVID-19 lockdown while studying online for my board exams led me to Khan Academy's Computer Programming - Javascript and the web course, which became my gateway to the world of software development and programming. I was excited and keep grinding my knowledge from random searches on Google and after my boards this excitement led me to choose Computer Science. In 2021 I started my graduation in Computer Science for getting more close to what I was loving.
Building and Learning:
During my first semester at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, our principal Maharaj, initiated a project to build a Library Management System for the departmental library. By then, I had been into front-end development and had learned frameworks like Vue.js. I took the project and soon realize I need to learn back-end, I again spend hours searching what to learn and finaly stayed to Firebase, a BAAS(as it seems easy), and build the platform (it is still being used by our department, check it out here).
It was a sheer motivation for me, and this is the time I decided to upskill myself, though I had used firebase in my previous project, I wasn't quite liking it, in search of learning a backend framework I tried a lot and finally sticked to Spring Boot, learned more about git and kept grinding.
Leadership and Exploration:
By the end of my third semester, my peers and I were actively participating in tech fests at nearby colleges. This inspired us to organize the first-ever tech fest at our college (Nirdesh). I developed the quiz platform for the contest Eureka this time using Spring Boot. This project led to my first SDE internship at the National Informatics Center, where I worked on the Candidate Expenditure Monitoring System and learned about TALL Stack, how large code repositories, branching, and contributions works. This is when I realised, my passion lied in building problem-solving applications and continued to upskill, focusing on DevOps, and learned Docker, CI/CD and more while building projects.
Looking Ahead:
Having graduated in July 2024, I'm eager to pursue MCA and continue refining my skills.
That's me, that's my story! Thanks for reading till the end!
